Written Japanese

Designed to be an accordion-page 11x 17 booklet that explains the Japanese Writing System in a comprehensive way, for a foreign audience. The toughest part was selecting a typeface that supported English and Japanese characters while allowing for differences in spacing and size. The other challenge was aligning all of the alphabets uniformly over the course of the columns in the brochure. I ended up with a six-column grid that allowed me to subdivide the page really nicely.
